Confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh Circus

In a coordinated effort by Democrats led by Chuck Schumer, Senate democrats try to shut down the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh. In the opening minutes of the hearing, Senate Democrats shouted over Senator Chuck Grassley as he was beginning the hearings. Within the first few minutes of the hearings,  Sens. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) started shouting over Grassley’s introductory remarks.  Democrats are demanding to know how Kavanaugh will pre-judge cases before cases are presented to the Supreme Court.

While, protestors screaming in the background, Senator Grassley held his patience, and Senator Dick Durbin made the comment, “What we hear is the noise of Democracy.” Believing that disruption, mob rules, and belligerent inappropriate gender based attacks on Judge Kavanaugh wife and daughters, is the noise of Democracy.  As Durbin commented, “This is what happens in a free country when people can stand up and speak and not be jailed, imprisoned, tortured or killed because of it.”

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., called the session a “charade and mockery of our norms” due to the lack of availability of documents from Kavanaugh’s time as White House staff secretary.  Blumenthal called numerous times for an adjournment.

Democrats are claiming they simply do not have enough documents, and citing executive privlidge is holding back some documents that democrats are trying to view, even though many of those documents hold information that if released, could endanger people due to their sensitive nature.

Fact Checks shown that judge Kavanaugh has ruled on 307 cases as a judge.  Congress has access to those cases Kavanaugh ruled on.  In addition, Congress will receive more records on Kavanaugh than the last five Supreme Court nominees combined.

Ben Sasse during the hearing, praised Judge Kavanaugh on his nomination, claiming every confirmation hearing will be a political circus.
