All this talk about “collusion” involving Russia and the Trump team needs to be looked at from a different perspective. As media sources such as USA Today reported, “Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee released thousands of Russian Facebook ads on Thursday, offering the public its first in-depth look at the troubling messages used to heighten tensions among Americans during and after the 2016 U.S. presidential election.” RHM has decided to take a closer look at who owns Facebook.
One Early investor in Facebook is a Russian Oligarch named Yuri Milner. Milner funneled millions of Kremlin dollars into Facebook. Milner also founded a venture capital firm, DST Global, and his companies would eventually hold 8% of Facebook and 5% of Twitter. Milner and Zuckerberg became friends, according to The New York Times, and met monthly.
Another interesting aspect of Milner the social media giant and silicon valley is that during the Obama administration was encouraging Russia to learn from the American technology industry.
As far as Twitter is concerned: several venture capital and private equity firms are listed as 5% shareholders, Twitter’s S-1 does not disclose exact stakes. Among those mentioned in that group include Spark Capital, Union Square Ventures, Rizvi Traverse and billionaire Yuri Milner’s DST Capital. Benchmark Capital’s Peter Fenton, who sits on the board, maintains voting control of nearly 31.6 million shares for his Menlo Park, Calif.-based firm. Notice Yuri Milner also owns a quantity of shares in Twitter also.
These are just facts, about who owns social media giants in America. Facts that neither prove nor disprove any involvement with Russian collusion, however…The control of information is something the elite always does, particularly in a despotic form of government.
